Northern State Wolves History
The Northern State Wolves are the athletic teams representing Northern State University (NSU) located in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Established in 1901, the university has a rich history in collegiate athletics, and the Wolves have been a part of the NCAA since the organization was founded. Initially, the teams were known by various names, but the 'Wolves' moniker was officially adopted in 1963. The Wolves compete in the NCAA Division II and are a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), which they joined in 2008.
