    As of October 2023, the Kansas City Roos are actively participating in their respective sports seasons, with the men's and women's basketball teams gearing up for an exciting year ahead. The Roos have been focusing on building a strong roster through recruitment and training, aiming to enhance their performance in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).     Kansas City Roos History

    The Kansas City Roos, officially known as the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Kangaroos, have a rich history in collegiate sports that dates back to their establishment in 1930. Initially competing in various athletic associations, the Roos became a member of the NCAA in 1982. Over the decades, the Roos have developed a reputation for their competitive spirit and athletic achievements across several sports, including basketball, soccer, and volleyball. Notably, the men's basketball program has made significant strides, with numerous appearances in postseason tournaments, including the National Invitational Tournament (NIT).
