    The Fort Lewis Skyhawks represent Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and are known for their rich athletic tradition. Established in 1963, the Skyhawks' men's basketball team was the first to gain national recognition, winning the NAIA championship in 1990. The program transitioned to NCAA Division II in 1992, allowing the Skyhawks to compete against a broader range of opponents.
