The Concord Mountain Lions are a collegiate sports program representing Concord University, located in Athens, West Virginia. The history of the Mountain Lions dates back to the university's founding in 1872, but the athletic program was formally established in the late 19th century. Over the years, Concord's athletic teams have gone through various name changes and affiliations, but they officially adopted the 'Mountain Lions' nickname in the early 2000s.
