Wings of Steel History
Wings of Steel is a tribute band dedicated to the iconic sounds of the legendary British rock band, Styx. Formed in the early 2000s, Wings of Steel aimed to capture the essence of Styx's classic hits while delivering a high-energy performance that resonates with fans both old and new. The founding members, who were long-time fans of Styx, noticed a lack of tribute acts dedicated to the band's unique blend of rock and theatrical performance. Drawing inspiration from Styx's distinct style, Wings of Steel meticulously crafted their setlist to include timeless hits like 'Come Sail Away,' 'Renegade,' and 'Mr. Roboto.' Over the years, they have honed their craft through countless performances at various venues, ranging from local bars to large concert halls, gaining a loyal following along the way. The band's tribute to Styx has not only paid homage to their musical heroes but has also brought a renewed appreciation for classic rock to younger generations. Their commitment to authenticity extends beyond just music; the band members often don costumes reminiscent of Styx’s stage outfits, further enhancing the live experience. As they’ve grown, Wings of Steel has developed a reputation for their enthusiastic live shows that feature lush harmonies, engaging theatrics, and a strong sense of nostalgia. This dedication has allowed them to stand out in the tribute band circuit, earning invitations to perform at major rock festivals and events celebrating classic rock music.
