Weedeater is an American sludge metal band formed in 1998 in Wilmington, North Carolina. The band's lineup consists of founding member and bass guitarist Dixie Dave Collins, along with drummer Travis Owen and guitarist/backup vocalist Mike 'Gator' Guarino. With influences from stoner rock and heavy metal, Weedeater's sound is marked by heavy, distorted guitars and aggressive rhythms that reflect a Southern rock aesthetic.
