Victoria Grizzlies History
The Victoria Grizzlies, a Junior A ice hockey team based in Victoria, British Columbia, were established in 2001. They originally began as the Victoria Salsa and were part of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). The team's name was changed to the Grizzlies in 2006, symbolizing the fierce and competitive spirit of the players, as well as connecting to the local wildlife of British Columbia. Over the years, the Grizzlies have built a rich legacy in the BCHL, developing numerous players who have gone on to play at higher levels, including the NCAA and professional leagues. The Grizzlies play their home games at The Q Centre in Colwood, which has a seating capacity of over 1,500.
