    Underoath History

Underoath, formed in 1997 in Tampa, Florida, initially started as a hardcore band but quickly evolved into one of the leading acts in the post-hardcore and metalcore scenes. Their blend of heavy instrumentation with emotional lyrics resonated with a generation of fans looking for authenticity in music. The band's first significant release, 'Act of Depression' (1999), showcased their raw energy and set the foundation for their subsequent albums. However, it was with the release of 'They’re Only Chasing Safety' in 2004 that Underoath truly exploded onto the mainstream scene. The album debuted at number 24 on the Billboard 200 and solidified their reputation as a powerhouse in the music industry. Their live performances became known for their intensity and emotional depth, often featuring elaborate lighting setups and a passionate connection with the audience. Following the release of 'Define the Great Line' (2006), which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200, Underoath continued to tour extensively, captivating fans with their electrifying concerts. In 2010, they announced a hiatus, which left fans eager for their return. After years of anticipation, Underoath returned to the stage in 2018 for their 'Rebirth Tour', celebrating the 15th anniversary of 'They’re Only Chasing Safety'. This tour rekindled their connection with fans and demonstrated their enduring appeal in the live music scene.
