The Darkness History
The Darkness, an English rock band formed in 2000, quickly rose to prominence with their flamboyant style and a sound reminiscent of 1970s glam rock. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Justin Hawkins, his brother Dan Hawkins on guitar, bassist Frankie Poullain, and drummer Rufus Tiger Taylor. They gained fame with their debut album, 'Permission to Land,' released in 2003, which featured hits like 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' and 'Growing on Me.' The band's energetic performances and Hawkins' theatrical stage presence captivated audiences, leading to a resurgence of interest in glam rock. Their subsequent albums, including 'One Way Ticket to Hell... and Back' and 'Last of Our Kind,' continued to showcase their signature sound and over-the-top stage antics. After a brief hiatus, The Darkness reunited in 2011 and has been actively touring and releasing new music ever since, with a focus on delivering electrifying live performances that celebrate their unique blend of rock and humor.
