    The Besnard Lakes History

The Besnard Lakes are a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2003 in Montreal, Quebec, by the husband-and-wife duo Jace Lasek and Olga Goreas. The group's name is inspired by the Besnard Lake located in the central part of Saskatchewan, which adds a sense of mystique to their music. They released their debut album, 'Volume I,' in 2007, which showcased their unique blend of dreamy psych-rock, layered harmonies, and elaborate compositions. The band's sound evolved with their subsequent releases, such as 'The Besnard Lakes Are the Roaring Night' in 2010, which was nominated for the Polaris Music Prize, and 'Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO' in 2013. Over the years, The Besnard Lakes have garnered a reputation for their captivating live performances, characterized by lush soundscapes, engaging visuals, and an ability to create a mesmerizing atmosphere. Their intricate arrangements and soaring harmonies resonate well with audiences, making each concert a memorable experience.
