The Apricots History
The Apricots, an indie-pop band formed in 2015, originated in the vibrant music scene of Portland, Oregon. Comprised of four members—vocalist and guitarist Sarah Miller, bassist Jamie Chen, drummer Tom Baker, and keyboardist and backing vocalist Lily Sanders—they quickly captured the attention of local audiences with their catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Their debut EP, 'Sunshine and Shadows,' released in 2016, showcased their unique sound, blending elements of folk and pop, reflective of their eclectic influences from the likes of Fleetwood Mac to modern indie artists. Over the years, The Apricots have honed their craft through countless performances across various venues, from intimate cafes to larger music festivals, establishing a dedicated fan base. Their engaging stage presence and ability to connect with the audience have made their live shows memorable experiences. By 2019, the band released their first full-length album, 'Eternal Breeze,' which solidified their position in the indie music scene. The album featured popular tracks that are now staples at concerts, characterized by their upbeat rhythms and relatable themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery. The Apricots’ commitment to live performance has kept them relevant, allowing them to tour nationally and participate in notable music festivals, including South by Southwest and Bonnaroo, where they garnered critical acclaim for their vivacious performances and tight harmonies.
