Temples History
Temples is an English rock band formed in 2012, originating from Kettering, Northamptonshire. The group emerged during the revival of psychedelic rock, captivating audiences with their vintage sound and aesthetic that nods to the classic rock era of the '60s and '70s. Temples consists of lead singer James Edward Bagshaw, who co-founded the band with guitarist Tobias Hughes, and their distinctive sound is characterized by jangly guitars, lush harmonies, and an air of nostalgia. They quickly gained popularity after releasing their debut album, 'Sun Structures', in 2014, which was well-received and showcased their ability to blend modern rock with psychedelic influences. The band's captivating live performances, rich with visuals and engaging energy, helped them carve out a niche in the concert scene, drawing comparisons to legendary acts like The Byrds and The Zombies. Following their debut, Temples released several more albums, including 'Volcano' in 2017 and 'Exotico', continuing to evolve their sound while maintaining their psychedelic roots. Their commitment to live music has allowed them to share their artistry on stages worldwide, honing their craft and building a devoted fanbase. Over the years, Temples has performed at various prestigious music festivals, including Glastonbury and Coachella, further cementing their status as prominent figures in the live performance circuit.
