    Soja History

SOJA, or Soldiers of Jah Army, is an American reggae band formed in 1997 in Arlington, Virginia. The group was created by a collective of friends who shared a passion for reggae music and the cultural messages it conveyed. Initially, the band played local clubs and college venues, gradually building a dedicated following through their energetic live performances and engaging lyrics that often addressed social issues and themes of love, unity, and peace. The band's debut album, 'Get Wiser,' released in 2000, marked their entry into the music scene, but it was their subsequent albums, such as 'Roots Reggae' and 'True,' that solidified their reputation. SOJA's sound is characterized by a blend of reggae, rock, and elements of hip-hop, which they have skillfully woven into their live performances. Over the years, the band has shared the stage with notable artists and has toured extensively, gaining international recognition and a loyal fan base. They have received several accolades, including a Grammy nomination in 2017 for their album 'Amid the Noise and the Haste,' which further established their presence in the reggae genre.
