Shiner History
Shiner, a prominent name in the alternative rock scene, emerged in the mid-1990s from the vibrant music hub of Kansas City, Missouri. Formed in 1992, the band consisted of members Josh Newton, Jason Beebout, Paul Malinowski, and Allen Epley. Their unique sound, characterized by intricate guitar work and emotionally charged lyrics, quickly garnered attention. Shiner's debut album, 'Splay,' released in 1996, set the stage for their distinctive presence in music, blending elements of post-hardcore and progressive rock. The band continued to build their reputation with 'Horse Thief' in 1998 and their critically acclaimed 2001 album 'The Egg,' which showcased their evolution as musicians and solidified their fan base. Although they disbanded in 2004, their influence lingered, inspiring new generations of musicians. In 2017, Shiner surprised fans with a reunion and a new album, 'Schadenfreude,' further demonstrating their enduring appeal. Their live performances, known for their intensity and raw energy, remain a highlight for audiences who appreciate atmospheric soundscapes interwoven with powerful melodies.
