Saskatchewan Rush History
The Saskatchewan Rush are a professional box lacrosse team based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Established in 2014, the team became a part of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) when it relocated from Edmonton, where they were previously known as the Edmonton Rush. The franchise quickly made its mark in the league, winning the NLL Championship in 2016, just two years after the move. This victory was historic as it was the first championship win for the franchise in its new home. The Rush's strong performance continued, and they claimed another championship in 2018, solidifying their status as one of the premier teams in the league. The team's colors, green and gold, and their mascot, a wolf named 'Rush', embody the spirit and energy of Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Rush have cultivated a loyal fanbase, drawing impressive crowds at their home games at SaskTel Centre. The team's competitive spirit, community involvement, and promotion of lacrosse in Saskatchewan have made them not just a sports team but a significant part of the local culture and identity.
