    Reno Philharmonic History

The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1969 by a group of passionate musicians and cultural advocates in Reno, Nevada. Over the years, it has grown from a small community orchestra into the largest performing arts organization in Northern Nevada. Initially, the orchestra performed in various locations, but in 1974, they found a more permanent home at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, enhancing their visibility and accessibility to audiences. The orchestra has undergone several transformations, expanding its repertoire and programming to include classical, pops, and educational concerts. Throughout its history, the Reno Philharmonic has been dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of the region, collaborating with local artists and educators, and bringing world-class musicians to the stage. The orchestra has also been involved in numerous outreach programs, fostering a love for music in the community and inspiring future generations of musicians. With its mission to provide exceptional orchestral music and engage the community, the Reno Philharmonic continues to thrive and evolve in the vibrant arts scene of Reno.
