    Quinnipiac Bobcats Hockey History

    The Quinnipiac Bobcats hockey program began in the 1970s, representing Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. Initially, the team played at the club level before transitioning to NCAA Division III in 1984. The Bobcats made strides quickly, becoming a competitive force in the ECAC Hockey league. In 1998, they moved to Division I, which marked a significant turning point for the program. The team's rise to prominence continued as they consistently qualified for the NCAA tournament, culminating in a historic run to the national championship game in 2013. The Bobcats have been known for their strong defensive play and skilled goaltending, contributing to their reputation as a formidable opponent in college hockey.
