    Pacific Symphony History

Pacific Symphony, based in Orange County, California, was founded in 1978 and has since evolved into one of the largest and most recognized orchestras in the United States. The orchestra began with a modest mission to provide high-quality performances to the local community and has grown significantly in scope and ambition over the years. The first concert was held at the Orange Coast College, and as the audience expanded, so did the orchestra's repertoire and talent pool. In 1986, Pacific Symphony found its permanent home at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, which has since become a cultural hub for the region. Over the years, the orchestra has enjoyed collaborations with renowned conductors, soloists, and composers, expanding its repertoire to include classical masterpieces, contemporary works, and innovative programming that attracts diverse audiences. The commitment to education and community engagement has also been a hallmark of Pacific Symphony, with various outreach programs designed to make music accessible to all. Their annual 'Summer Concerts' series is a highlight, featuring performances in beautiful outdoor settings, bringing orchestral music to a wider audience beyond traditional concert halls.
