    Onslaught History

Onslaught, a British thrash metal band formed in 1983 in Bristol, England, has been a significant player in the heavy metal scene since their inception. The band's early work is characterized by its ferocity and lyrical themes that often critique societal norms, which resonated with the burgeoning thrash movement of the 1980s. Their first album, 'Power from Hell' (1985), set the stage for their aggressive sound, combining elements of speed metal with hardcore punk influences. Over the next few years, Onslaught released several seminal albums, including 'The Force' (1986) and 'In Search of Sanity' (1989), both of which helped solidify their reputation in the thrash metal genre. However, by the early 1990s, the band faced various challenges, leading to their disbandment in 1991 after a brief hiatus and a lineup change. Their reunion in 2005 marked the beginning of a new era for Onslaught as they continued to produce new music, releasing 'Killing Peace' (2007) and 'Sounds of Violence' (2013), revealing an evolution in their sound and a return to their thrash roots, which delighted longtime fans and attracted new listeners.
