The Niagara Purple Eagles represent Niagara University in Lewiston, New York, and are a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Founded in 1923, the athletic program started with a focus on developing student-athletes both academically and athletically. The name 'Purple Eagles' was adopted in 1932, symbolizing strength and majesty.
