Nascar/Inex Races History
NASCAR, or the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, was founded in 1948 by Bill France Sr. in Daytona Beach, Florida. The first official NASCAR race took place in 1949 at the Charlotte Speedway, marking the beginning of what would become a major American motorsport. The organization aimed to bring structure and organization to the burgeoning field of stock car racing, which had been popularized by moonshiners in the South who modified their cars for speed to evade law enforcement. Over the decades, NASCAR grew in popularity, eventually becoming a multi-billion dollar industry with millions of fans across the globe. The introduction of the NASCAR Cup Series in 1971 further solidified its status as the premier racing series in America. INEX (International National Extra) was founded in 1995 to promote short track racing and is known for its grassroots-level involvement in motorsports. INEX races feature several divisions, including Legends Cars and Bandoleros, and focus on providing affordable racing opportunities for enthusiasts of all ages. Both NASCAR and INEX have played significant roles in the evolution of live motorsport events, providing thrilling experiences for fans and showcasing the talents of numerous drivers.
