    Missouri Tigers Softball History

The Missouri Tigers softball program, representing the University of Missouri, has a rich history that dates back to its inception in 1979. As part of the NCAA Division I and a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the Tigers have built a reputation for excellence over the decades. Early on, the team established itself as a competitive force within the Big Eight Conference, and later in the Big 12, where they made multiple NCAA tournament appearances. The Mizzou Tigers reached a significant milestone in 1983, winning their first Big Eight title. Under the leadership of various successful head coaches, the program has produced numerous All-Americans and professional players, contributing to the growth of women's softball in the state and nationally. The Tigers made their first NCAA Women's College World Series appearance in 1983, setting the stage for further success in the years to come. Over the years, they have consistently qualified for NCAA tournaments and have seen several deep postseason runs, including multiple appearances in the Super Regionals.
