The team’s current head coach, who took the helm in 2021, has been instrumental in instilling a new philosophy that emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and resilience. This season, the Huskies have scheduled a series of exciting home games against rival teams, drawing in fans and alumni who come to support their school and enjoy the thrilling atmosphere of live college football.     Michigan Tech Huskies Football History

    The Michigan Tech Huskies football program dates back to 1920, when the team was first established as part of the Michigan College of Mines. Initially, the Huskies competed in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association before eventually transitioning to the NCAA Division II level. Throughout their history, the team has seen various degrees of success, with notable achievements in the 1970s and 1980s when they made several playoff appearances. The Huskies play their home games at the Sherman Field, located on the Michigan Tech University campus in Houghton, Michigan. The team's colors are brown and gold, which represent the university's mining heritage.
