Miami Hurricanes Baseball History
The Miami Hurricanes baseball program, also known as the 'Canes', was established in 1940 and has since become one of the most storied collegiate baseball programs in the United States. The team is part of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and has a rich tradition of success, with four NCAA championships to its name (1982, 1985, 1993, and 1999). The Hurricanes initially played at the University of Miami campus; however, they moved to Mark Light Field at Alex Rodriguez Park in 1994, where they have found great success. The team's overall record has placed them among the top in NCAA history, consistently participating in NCAA tournaments and producing numerous Major League Baseball (MLB) draft picks. The Hurricanes have also been renowned for their intense rivalries, especially with teams like Florida State and the Miami Dolphins, further highlighting their cultural significance in the region and the sport.
