Malala Yousafzai History
Malala Yousafzai was born on July 12, 1997, in Mingora, a city in the Swat Valley of Pakistan. From a young age, she showed a passion for learning, inspired by her father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, who was an educator and activist. Malala gained international recognition after she began writing a blog for the BBC Urdu under a pseudonym, highlighting the issues faced by girls seeking education in her region, which was under Taliban control. In 2012, she was targeted in an assassination attempt by a Taliban gunman due to her outspoken views on education for girls. Surviving the attack, Malala continued her advocacy and became a symbol of resistance against tyranny. In 2014, she became the youngest-ever recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 17 for her efforts to promote education and gender equality. Malala founded the Malala Fund, which invests in education projects and advocates for girls' education globally.
