    Leeds United FC History

Leeds United Football Club was founded in 1919, following the disbandment of Leeds City FC. The club quickly ascended the ranks of English football and joined the Football League in 1920. Leeds established itself as a formidable club during the 1960s and 1970s, becoming a powerhouse under the management of Don Revie. They won their first major trophy, the FA Cup, in 1972 and achieved great success in the First Division, winning the title three times in 1969, 1971, and 1972. The club garnered a reputation for its physical style of play and competitive spirit, with iconic players like Billy Bremner and Jack Charlton becoming club legends.

However, the 1980s and 1990s brought challenges, including relegations and financial issues. The club returned to the Premier League in 1990 but faced another downturn at the turn of the millennium, culminating in relegation to the Championship in 2004. Leeds' journey through the lower leagues was marked by a period of struggles, but the club never lost its passionate fan base.

In recent years, Leeds United has seen a revival. After a period of ownership changes, the club was acquired by Andrea Radrizzani in 2017. Under his stewardship and the management of Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds returned to the Premier League in 2020 after a 16-year absence. The 'Marcelo Bielsa effect' instilled a progressive and attacking style of play, re-energizing the fan base and earning the team a 9th-place finish in their first season back in the top flight.
