    L7 History

L7, an all-female grunge band formed in Los Angeles in 1985, was part of the wave of alternative rock bands that gained prominence in the early 1990s. The original lineup consisted of Donita Sparks (vocals, guitar), Suzi Gardner (vocals, guitar), Jennifer Finch (bass, vocals), and Demetra Plakas (drums). Known for their powerful sound, feminist themes, and energetic performances, L7 quickly made a name for themselves in the underground music scene. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1990, followed by 'Bricks Are Heavy' in 1992, which featured the hit single 'Pretend We're Dead.' This track helped them gain significant attention, and they became a staple of the Lollapalooza festival tours. The band's concerts were characterized by their raw energy and a strong connection with the audience, often addressing social issues and personal experiences in their performances. However, following their 1999 album 'Slap-Happy,' the band went on hiatus, with members exploring other projects. In 2014, L7 reunited, much to the delight of their fans, and began touring again, revitalizing their presence in the music scene.
