Kreator History
Kreator is a German thrash metal band formed in 1982 in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia. They are considered one of the 'Big Four' of Teutonic thrash metal, alongside Destruction, Sodom, and Tankard. Originally named Tormentor, the band changed its name to Kreator and released their debut album, 'Endless Pain', in 1985. This album, along with their follow-up 'Pleasure to Kill' (1986), played a significant role in shaping the sound of thrash metal with aggressive riffs, fast tempos, and chaotic lyrics. Over the years, Kreator has undergone several lineup changes while maintaining its core sound that blends intensity with melodic elements. The band has consistently prioritized live performances, building a loyal fanbase through electrifying concerts across Europe and around the world. Their live shows are noted for their high energy, captivating stage presence, and interaction with fans, making them a staple in the heavy metal concert scene.
