They gained recognition in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their unique blend of progressive rock, hard rock, and elements of funk and soul. Their self-titled debut album, 'Kings X', was released in 1988 but it was their follow-up albums, 'Gretchen Goes to Nebraska' (1989) and 'Faith Hope Love' (1992), that truly showcased their musical prowess, featuring complex song structures, rich harmonies, and introspective lyrics.
