About Idaho Vandals Football
In recent years, the Idaho Vandals football program has undergone significant changes, including a shift from the FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision) to the FCS (Football Championship Subdivision) level. The decision was made in 2018 as a strategic move to stabilize the program amidst challenges faced in the FBS. Currently, the Vandals compete in the Big Sky Conference and have been working to rebuild their program under head coach Jason Eck, who was appointed in 2021. As of the 2023 season, the Vandals are showing promise, with a focus on developing young talent and revitalizing the team's competitive edge. The Vandals have also been actively engaging with their community, hosting fan events and participating in outreach programs that strengthen the bond between the team and its supporters. The program aims to regain its former glory while fostering a new generation of players who can carry on the Vandal legacy. With a renewed focus on team culture and community involvement, the Idaho Vandals are poised for an exciting future in college football.
