Great White History
Great White is a rock band that was formed in 1977 in Los Angeles, California, known for their bluesy hard rock sound and powerful live performances. The band originally consisted of lead vocalist Jack Russell, guitarist Mark Kendall, bassist Lorne Black, drummer Gary Holland, and keyboardist Michael Lardie. They gained significant popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits like 'Once Bitten, Twice Shy' and 'Save Your Love'. Their self-titled album, released in 1987, achieved commercial success, propelling them into the limelight. Great White became a staple of the glam metal scene, known for their energetic shows and engaging stage presence. However, their journey was not without tragedy; in 2003, a fire during a performance at The Station nightclub in Rhode Island led to the loss of 100 lives, a devastating event that had a profound impact on the band and the music industry as a whole. Despite this tragedy, Great White continued to perform and release new music, evolving their sound while maintaining their classic rock roots.
