    Firefall History

Firefall is an American rock band that was formed in 1974 in Boulder, Colorado. The band's name is derived from the Firefall, a phenomenon that occurs in Yosemite National Park when the setting sun casts a brilliant glow on the waterfall. Initially, the band was formed by former members of the band Zephyr, including guitarist and vocalist Jock Bartley, as well as Rick Roberts, who would later become the band's primary songwriter. Firefall quickly gained popularity with their unique blend of rock, country, and folk elements, characterized by harmonious vocals and melodic guitar riffs. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1976, featured the hit single 'You Are the Woman,' which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Over the years, Firefall released several successful albums and became known for their engaging live performances, which often included a mix of their original songs and covers, making them a favorite in concert venues throughout the United States. Throughout the late 1970s and into the 1980s, Firefall continued to tour extensively, solidifying their reputation as a premier live act. The band underwent several lineup changes over the years but continued to perform and record new material, maintaining a loyal fan base. Their ability to adapt and evolve while staying true to their roots has allowed Firefall to remain a relevant force in the live music scene for decades.
