    Eastern Michigan Eagles Football History

The Eastern Michigan Eagles football program began in 1891, making it one of the oldest college football programs in the United States. Initially a small operation, the team grew in stature throughout the decades. The Eagles joined the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in 1972 and have since developed a competitive presence within the conference. Over the years, they have experienced varying degrees of success, with notable moments including their first MAC championship in 1987. The program produced several NFL players, with some of the most notable being former quarterback Charlie Batch and defensive back Michael Turner. The Eagles' home games are played at Rynearson Stadium, which has undergone renovations to enhance the fan experience and improve facilities.
