Formed in 2015, the ensemble quickly carved a niche for itself with a rich sound that fuses rhythmic intricacies and melodic sophistication. The band's name, translating to 'free spirit' in Spanish, reflects their commitment to artistic expression and improvisation. Influenced by a wide array of musical traditions, Duende Libre features the improvisational prowess of musicians like saxophonist and flautist Ayo Awosika, guitarist J. A. M. Leach, bassist and bandleader Greg Williamson, and drummer Chris Icasiano.
