Drop Nineteens History
Drop Nineteens was formed in the early '90s in Boston, Massachusetts, and quickly made a name for themselves within the alternative rock and shoegaze scenes. Emerging from the vibrant college town, their sound, characterized by dreamy guitars and wispy vocals, was reflective of the era's burgeoning indie scene. Their debut album, "Delicate Cosmetic," released in 1992, showcased a blend of ethereal soundscapes and melodic hooks, gaining them critical acclaim and a loyal fanbase. The band, consisting of members Chris Senseney, Vanessa Brant, and others, toured extensively in the early '90s, performing in small venues across the U.S. The band's music resonated with the youth of the time, capturing the angst and dreaminess of the alternative wave. However, the group disbanded in 1995 after their second album, "National Comet," which, although received positively, did not achieve commercial success. Following their breakup, members pursued various musical and professional careers, yet the band's influence remained, as they were often cited by newer artists inspired by their sound. In the 2010s, Drop Nineteens experienced a revival, leading to reunion shows that allowed fans both old and new to experience their music live once again.
