CKY History
CKY, short for Camp Kill Yourself, is an American rock band that originated in 1998 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The band's lineup initially included frontman Deron Miller, drummer Jess Margera (the brother of Bam Margera of 'Jackass' fame), guitarist Chad I. Ginsburg, and bassist Matt Deis. CKY rose to prominence during the early 2000s, largely thanks to their association with the 'Jackass' television series and films, which prominently featured their music. Their sound blends alternative rock, metal, and punk influences, characterized by catchy riffs and introspective lyrics. Their debut album, 'Volume 1', was released in 1999, but it was their 2001 album 'Infiltrate•Destroy•Rebuild' that truly put them on the map, thanks to the hit single 'Flesh Into Gear'. Over the years, CKY has experienced substantial lineup changes and hiatuses but has maintained a dedicated fanbase and continued to evolve musically. The combination of their unique sound and connection to pop culture through 'Jackass' has solidified their place in rock history and made their live performances highly anticipated events in the music scene.
