    Cavity History

Cavity, an influential band emerging from the hardcore and sludge metal scenes in the early 1990s, has made significant contributions to the heavy music landscape. Formed in 1992 in Florida, the band originally consisted of founding members, including guitarist and vocalist Jacob Bercovici, bassist Scott Angelacos, and drummer Paul Gentry. Their sound is characterized by a blend of crushing riffs, ambient soundscapes, and heavy, slow tempos that reflect the influence of pioneers in the genre. They quickly gained notoriety for their chaotic live performances, marked by raw energy and powerful stage presence. In 1995, Cavity released their debut album, "Something Gloomy," which showcased their unique sound and garnered a cult following. Their later works, such as "Until the End" (1997) and "Supercollider" (1998), further cemented their place in the music scene, combining elements of sludge metal, post-metal, and hardcore punk. Although the band faced lineup changes and went on hiatus in the early 2000s, their influence remains palpable, inspiring countless bands within the heavy music community. Their reunion in recent years has reignited interest in their music and brought them back to the stage for passionate performances that remind fans of their formidable legacy.
