Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra History
The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO) was founded in 1958 with the mission of providing young musicians the opportunity to perform orchestral music at a high level. Established by conductor and educator, Jonathan S. McMullen, BYSO aimed to nurture talent in the Boston area by offering a platform for youth musicians to engage with classical music.
