Boise Philharmonic History
The Boise Philharmonic, established in 1960, is one of Idaho's leading musical institutions, dedicated to providing exceptional live orchestral performances. Originally known as the Boise Symphony Orchestra, it was founded by a group of dedicated musicians and community leaders who envisioned a local orchestra that would enrich the cultural landscape of Boise. Over the decades, the organization has evolved significantly, from its humble beginnings with a handful of musicians to a full-sized orchestra comprising over 70 musicians, featuring a wide range of performances including classical masterpieces, contemporary works, and collaborations with various artists.
