    Bellarmine Knights Basketball History

    The Bellarmine Knights basketball program has a rich history that dates back to its inception in the early 1970s. Founded in 1971, the Knights initially competed in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) before transitioning to NCAA Division II in 1978. Over the years, Bellarmine has established itself as a competitive program, achieving significant success in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), where they have won multiple conference titles and made numerous appearances in the NCAA Division II tournament. One of the highlights of the program's history came in 2011 when the Knights won the NCAA Division II National Championship, a testament to their skill and teamwork. Bellarmine's commitment to excellence has not only earned them a reputation in the region but also paved the way for a dedicated fan base that passionately supports the team through thick and thin.
