The Appalachian State Mountaineers are a collegiate athletic program representing Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Initially competing in the NAIA and later becoming a member of the Southern Conference, the Mountaineers made a significant transition when they moved to the Sun Belt Conference in 2014.
