Vivint Smart Home Arena - Salt Lake City, UT
Representing the largest indoor arena in the state of Utah, the Vivint Smart Home Arena (Formerly EnergySolutions Arena) has seating for over 20,000, and hosts live basketball by way of Utah Jazz tickets. In addition to basketball, many other notable events have gone down in history at the Vivint Smart Home Arena, from concerts and football to hockey and skating. In 2002, the Winter Olympics short track speed skating was held here, as well as the figure skating competition. On different occasions, the venue has been used for concerts and as a featured location in the film “Legally Blonde 2.”
Built in 1991 at a cost of $93 million, the center has 19,911 seats, along with 668 club seats and 56 luxury suites. The arena originally served as the home of both the Jazz and the Salt Lake Golden Eagles, the latter of which discontinued its play there shortly thereafter. Between 1997 and 2002, the arena was designated as the home of the WNBA team of Utah, the Starzz.
In the 1990s, the arena was filled with fans eager to watch basketball legends Karl Malone and John Stockton star in the 1997 and 1998 NBA Finals games against Michael Jordan and the Bulls. These games included some of the most iconic and memorable moments in basketball history.
Getting There and Getting In
Parking & Directions Located in Salt Lake City’s downtown, the Vivint Smart Home Arena is easily accessible via car or public transit. The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) will deliver you to and from the arena with ease and convenience. The Arena Station, located on South Temple will take you directly across the center, so you won’t have to worry about parking and traffic.
You can reach the arena by car by taking I-15 to 600 North, going eastbound and exiting at 400 West, then going South on 400 West to 100 South. From the South or Southwest, I-15 to 300 West will lead you directly to South Temple, and from the East I-80 West via State Street to 500 South will take you to 300 West where the Northbound route will take you to South Temple.
Parking can be purchased at a discount in advance, and the Arena’s many lots offer several convenient parking solutions. With 20,000 available parking spaces in close proximity of the Arena, parking is never a hassle.
