The Toyota Stadium originally opened in August of 2005 and cost about $80 million to build. The first game was a tie between MetroStars and Toyota Stadium, the stadium's home team. The original design of the stadium was U-shaped and a stage at one end of the venue for concerts and other special events. The stadium is a soccer-specific stadium, however additional events such as concerts, special engagements, and other sporting events, like high school football games are held here. Some other events that have been held at Toyota Stadium include the 2005 MLS Cup final and 2006 MLS Cup.

There are other special features and areas of the Toyota Stadium, including a total of 18 luxury suites and a 6,000 square foot private stadium club. Just outside the stadium, you can find 17 soccer fields that are stadium quality and regulation size. These soccer fields include artificial turf and natural grass and used as practice for Toyota Stadium and to host youth soccer tournaments. Various youth tournaments have been held at the Toyota Stadium, including the USYSA National Championships, Dallas Cup, and the Olympic Development Program National Championships.

Parking & Directions

Getting to the Toyota Stadium is easy no matter where you're coming from. If you are coming from the South, the best way to get there is on the US 75 highway, going north until you get to the 635 West. From this freeway, exit at the Dallas North Tollway and head North. Continue going down this road until you reach Main Street/Cotton Gin Road, where the stadium is on your right.

If you're coming from the North, go down Hwy 380 traveling South, either by taking the US 35 East or the US 75 West. Head toward the Dallas North Tollway and exit Main Street/Cotton Gin Road. From this direction, the stadium is on your left.

To get to Toyota Stadium from the East, go West down the 635 until you get to the Dallas North Tollway and exit at Main Street/Cotton Gin Road. On the right-hand side, you will find the stadium, and signs for free and paid parking. From the West, there are similar directions, except you will go East down the 635 to the Dallas North Tollway, exiting Main Street/Cotton Gin Road and finding the stadium on your right side.
