The Pink Floyd Experience
For all you Floyd fans mourning the fact that you will never see Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett and Rick Wright perform together again, The Pink Floyd Experience (PFX) is here to help shake off the veil and celebrate the music that came to define experimental rock.
“Oh by the way, which one’s Pink?”
The Pink Floyd Experience is an ensemble of top musicians who deftly reproduce the progressive, psychedelic sound of the Floyd, backed up on stage with lights and theatrics worthy of the genuine article. The group was formed back in 1994 by bandleader and guitarist Tom Quinn after Pink Floyd’s Division Bell tour came to San Diego, the group’s home base. Backed by bassist Gus Beaudoin, guitarist Randy McStine, saxist Jesse Malloy, keyboardist John Cox, drummer Bob Sale, and a top-notch production team, the group touts a powerful reproduction of Pink Floyd’s space-influenced visuals and sounds.
“Have a Cigar”
PFX have received rave reviews and accolades over the years in response to their attention to detail in reproducing the atmosphere of a live Pink Floyd concert. Playing mainly in the San Diego area early on, the group, then named Pink Froyd, garnered San Diego Music Awards in 1999 and 2000. Building on their local success, the group was approached by Canada-based Annerin Productions in 2003, a deal was signed, and PFX found themselves at the helm of a massive $2.5 million North American franchise tour, with all the bells, whistles, mirror balls, and lasers incumbent on a tour worthy of the Floyd name.
“So ya thought ya might like to go to the show?”
