The Observatory also known as “Observatory OC” is locate in Santa Ana in Orange County, California. The venue brings in tons of great artists every year. The Observatory itself is not that old in fact it is relatively new. In the early 2000’s it went by the name Galaxy Concert Theatre. The venue was on the verge of closing down when local businessman and Costa Mesa native Jon Reiser along with Courtney Michaelis took over the venues operations. The entire building and parking lot were renovated.

Many artists who are on the road enjoying playing at a smaller venue like the Constellation Room, which is a more intimate concert venue. It is also considered one of Orange County’s most premier music venues.

The first show are the Observatory took place on September 12, 2011. The headliners were Foster the People. Some of the other notable acts early on were Young the Giant, Local Natives, and Edward Sharpe. As the venue began bringing in more popular artists the higher quality acts came to the Observatory.
