For some families, music runs in their blood—and that’s totally true for country act, The Band Perry, which is composed of Perry siblings Kimberly (vocals), Reid (bass) and Neil (drums/mandolin). Almost immediately after releasing their self-titled debut album in 2010, fans couldn’t get enough, thanks to intoxicating romps like “If I Die Alone” and “Hip To My Heart.” Audiences were definitely connecting and relating to the band’s modern twang, but The Band Perry were also being embraced by critics who often compared the trio to a cross between Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift.
Never a band to do things by the books, the group teamed up with famed producer Rick Rubin (Beastie Boys, Adele) for their sophomore album, Pioneer, which included hits like “Done” and “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely.” In between TV appearances and the occasional trip home, the band practically lives on the road, which suits fans just fine. “We do have about 24 hours at home every couple of weeks or so, which is just enough to touch home base and then get back out on the road,” Reid said to a local reporter before a show in Duluth, Minnesota. “But we love the road, it's what we did. Before the interviews or writing songs. It is where we feel most at home. We do say, home is wherever the tour bus is.”
