What was once known as the Home Depot Center is now called the StubHub Center. This stadium is home to several teams, including Major League Soccer (MLS) teams LA Galaxy and Chivas USA. The stadium is located at 18400 Avalon Boulevard in Carson, CA. It is on the campus of California State University in the Dominguez Hills area of Carson. This stadium was developed by Anschutz Entertainment Group for $150 million and is operated by the same group.
The StubHub Center in California is the largest soccer-specific stadium located in MLS, providing a standard capacity of 27,000 people with room for up to 30,510 people during special events. The field of the venue is 120 x 75 yards. A variety of special events have been hosted at the stadium, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup championship game in 2003, the 2003 MLS Cup Championship game, and the 2003 MLS All-Star Game. The stadium not only hosts soccer games but other events, such as rugby, CIF Football, concerts, and live shows. StubHub was only the second stadium in MLS history that was created specifically for soccer practice, games, tournaments and championships. The venue also provides an outdoor track and field, tennis stadium holding 8,000 people, and a 2,450-seat velodrome.
Getting There and Getting In
Parking & Directions
There are multiple parking options at and near the stadium, though tailgating is prohibited on the campus of California State University in Dominguez Hills. There are special spaces available for guests that have disabilities, including oversized van accessible parking spaces. You must displacy a license plate or disability placard. If you enter the stadium at Lot 14 at the VIP Entrance, you can request valet parking for your vehicle.
If you have season tickets to see LA Galaxy or Chivas USA, you can use the reserved parking lot 12 and Gate C. Suite ticket holders should use lot 15 for parking and club seat parking is available in lot 10. There are also onsite general parking lots, though they are first come first served, so arrive early to get a good spot. You will be charged for more than one parking spot if your vehicle takes up more than two spaces. For RVs or buses, call ahead to arrange special parking. Spaces for general parking are $15, $30 for preferred spaces, and $40 for valet parking.
If you are coming from the South from Pasadena, Glendale or downtown Los Angeles, take the 91 freeway and exit Avalon Boulevard. Turn left on Avalon and find parking nearby. For traveling North from Palos Verdes or San Pedro, use the Torrance Boulevard exit and turn left when you reach Figueroa Street, followed by a right on Del Amo Boulevard. This takes you to Avalon Boulevard, where you turn left.
Any guests taking the 405 South to the stadium are advised to exit Vermont and make a left on 190th Street. This turns into Victoria Street, which then lets you drive through Avalon Boulevard and find Gates C, D, E and F.
Upgrading Your Tickets
At the StubHub Center, you have a wide range of tickets and seats to choose from. If you have purchased tickets to see Chivas USA or LA Galaxy, you can easily upgrade the tickets. There is an easy app provided by the ticket processor that lets you see the best seats available for the date you have requested and you can use a credit card to purchase an upgrade. The new seat locations are sent to your phone after you have completed purchasing the upgrade. When you arrive at the stadium, simply show your phone to the usher with confirmation of the upgrade, and you will be directed to the new seats. You will need to bring your original tickets to get into the stadium. If you choose a Premium seat, you get in-seat food and drinks and access to the American Express Stadium Club, which is a restaurant and bar located at the stadium that also has a view of the entire stadium.
