Stone Temple Posers History
Stone Temple Pilots, often abbreviated as STP, is an American rock band formed in 1989 in San Diego, California. The original lineup consisted of Scott Weiland (vocals), Dean DeLeo (guitar), Robert DeLeo (bass), and Eric Kretz (drums). The band's sound is characterized by a blend of alternative rock, grunge, and hard rock, and they gained popularity during the 1990s, especially with their albums 'Core' and 'Purple'. Their energetic live performances were critical in establishing a solid fan base and solidifying their status in the rock music scene. Despite facing challenges such as lineup changes and Scott Weiland's struggles with addiction, STP continued to perform and release music. The band has had several reunions and line-up changes, most notably with the later addition of musician Chester Bennington and, more recently, Jeff Gutt as the lead vocalist, allowing them to continue their concert tours and engage with fans around the world.
