Steve Harvey is a well-known American comedian, actor, radio and TV personality and author. Early Years

Broderick Steven Harvey was born in Welch, West Virginia, in January of 1957. He is the youngest among five siblings.

Harvey was quite young when his family relocated to Cleveland. He did his graduation from Glenville High School in the year 1974 and returned to his home state to study further at the West Virginia University. After his studies, Harvey did various jobs including working as a postman and insurance salesman. He even tried his hand at professional boxing. The Beginning

In the year 2000, Steve Harvey began hosting the daily radio talk show, The Steve Harvey Morning Show. Initially aired in Dallas and Los Angeles, the show later gained a New York City flagship and national syndication. It currently airs on numerous stations around the country.

Even after he had established himself as a radio personality, Steve Harvey continued his stand-up and acting endeavors. He went on to host a reality show contest titled Steve Harvey’s Big Time which aired from 2003 to 2005. He made his acting debut on the big careen with a small role in the musical-comedy drama film The Fighting Temptations that came out in 2003. He appeared as a supporting cast in movies including You Got Served, Racing Stripes and Johnson Family Vacation. In the latter, Harvey served as a voice actor.

On his radio show, Steve Harvey gave some hilariously blunt advice to woman regarding their relationships. The response led him to write books on similar topics and in 2009, he unexpectedly emerged as a bestselling author on relationship advice. While he received negative reviews by some for these books, fans absolutely loved his straight-forward and light-hearted approach to self-help. His book titled Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man and Straight Talk, No Chaser both made it to the bestseller lists.

In 2015, Harvey attracted a lot of controversy when he announced the wrong contestant as the winner of the Miss Universe pageant. Nevertheless, he acknowledged his mistake and took full responsibility for it.
