It’s hard to really describe exactly what its like to see Sigur Ros perform live, so you may as well get tickets and see it for yourself. But to give you a little bit of an idea, the Icelandic post-rock band has a very unique, ethereal sound that fans have come to know and love for over 20 years. The three man band often appears on stage amidst otherworldly light projections and artistic installations. They might play the first few opening songs from inside of a cloth pod illuminated from within so they only appear in silhouette. There’s no telling what might grace the stage at a Rigur Ros concert. The only thing that’s for sure is you can count on a musical experience unlike any other. Lead singer Jonsi is known for his unique and lovely voice and for playing his guitar with a bow as if it were a cello. Crowds at a Sigur Ros show are upbeat, excited, energetic and revential. For the most part, they know what they’re in for, but they all still find themselves open mouthed in awe. When Jonsi pulls off his more challenging vocal tricks or when the band lets the music crescendo and climax to explode in the venue, fans cheer, sing, and go wild.
